*scrunches up nose in annoyance*

The internet at home is certainly speedy enough, but I never noticed what a profound difference there was between home and school until now. At school, I could download an episode of Veronica Mars or Lost in the same length of time it takes to watch it. Here, for Veronica Mars, it’s already been 7 hours, and it’s expecting another 3 to go. Fortunately, Lost is coming along a bit speedier, with only 14 minutes to go!

Oooh! A bunch of TV DVDs and A&E titles (including the Colin Firth “Pride and Prejudice” and the complete Monty Python’s Flying Circus) are half-price at Amazon! Get your Christmas shopping done early!

Wow. Looks like Philly’s getting a White Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, I will bask in balmy 70 degree weather! *dons sunglasses*

FYI, for those that read my blog on the LJ syndicated RSS feed (“abeybaby”), I don’t get comment notification for those posts. In order to comment, you need to click the permalink at the top of the post, then comment there, at my actual blog. I know it’s a hassle and I apologize. Maybe someday I’ll see the error of my ways and switch fully to LiveJournal. :D

As of 8:10 this morning, I am now 21, which is just 31 flavors of creepy. I can now drink, rent a car, gamble, and buy a prostitute in Nevada. Though Dan Radcliffe put it best: “It’s a big deal turning 16 in England. You can have sex and play the lottery. I couldn’t wait to play the lottery!”

Massive love to CHUNGY, who called me from England with the last 80p on her phone card to wish me a Happy Birthday, to MAH ROOMIES (well, roomie and ex-roomies), who left a lovely card for me to find Monday night, to Aaron, Renata, Jume, et all, who gave me birthday comment love. Also, to the Sci-Fi Channel for their Firefly mini-marathon (in my honor, of course), and JJ Abrams and Rob Thomas for giving me the gifts of new episodes of Lost and Veronica Mars. Unfortunately, I will be on an airplane when they air. Tomorrow, I will give thanks for BitTorrent!

SCORE! UK TV channel ITV4 has picked up The Inside, meaning that we’ll finally be able to see those unaired episodes! Stupid Fox has predictably chosen not to release the half-season on DVD, as Tim Minear’s last project, Wonderfalls, was only the top rated DVD on Amazon for a time, and the previous project, Firefly, only sold jaw-dropping numbers of DVD sets and amassed a fan following great enough to fuel a motion picture. What possible benefit could there be to releasing The Inside on DVD?

Oh! I forgot to mention that I ran into Professor Decherney, who taught my Copyright class last semester, and he told me that my final paper on Fan Art motivated him to devote an entire lecture on the subject in this year’s classes. Go me!
