I’m looking for great romantic movies with thwarted endings. Either one of the characters dies, or they don’t end up together, or whatever. I’m planning a Festival of Merry Misandry tomorrow night, for all my female friends without boyfriends (or girlfriends, as the case may be), one I like to call “Sergeant Pepper-Spray’s Lonely Hearts Club Night”. Ice cream, chocolate, and a pox on all things male!

Of course, a lot of these are really depressing. I’m wondering if I should shift the theme from “If I don’t get a boyfriend, then neither do you!” to Offbeat Romance and do something along the lines of Amelie or Bridget Jones.
