Two down, 48 to go!

Mmm, that’s good readin’:

Marriage is a vital social institution. The exclusive commitment of two individuals to each other nurtures love and mutual support; it brings stability to our society. For those who choose to marry, and for their children, marriage provides an abundance of legal, financial, and social benefits. In return it imposes weighty legal, financial, and social obligations. The question before us is whether, consistent with the Massachusetts Constitution, the Commonwealth may deny the protections, benefits, and obligations conferred by civil marriage to two individuals of the same sex who wish to marry. We conclude that it may not. The Massachusetts Constitution affirms the dignity and equality of all individuals. It forbids the creation of second-class citizens. In reaching our conclusion we have given full deference to the arguments made by the Commonwealth. But it has failed to identify any constitutionally adequate reason for denying civil marriage to same-sex couples. —GOODRIDGE, et al. v. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH, et al.

::laughs uncontrollably:: Tonight is just a night for mad giggle-inducing links! 50 Reasons Why Lord of the Rings Sucks.

Fabulous timing, as the Extended Edition TTT DVD comes out tomorrow! Erm, today! (Gotta love teenage sleep patterns). Mmm, must set aside large block of time some weekend and find a nearby Blockbuster and revel in hobbitage. Perhaps with Allison, as she owes me train fare (*hearts*) and has a tape of glorious Billeh and Dom merriment (and pippinment?) that she has been taunting me with for weeks.

Why is Chris, the guy in the room next to me, blasting La Marseillaise at full volume? With cannons?

Edit: This should have been posted at 11… Ah well. It’s more entertaining this way.

*looks through old Nimbus pics and feels warm and fuzzy inside* Gravy, I love those girls. And I get to see Lish and Mags again in a month and ten days! They’re coming to Dallas for the holidays! BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER.

I say “Why take a class you’re interested in when you can take a class from a Dr. Doom?

*giggles* My dad just sent this to me. Too funny.

At New York’s Kennedy airport today, an individual, later discovered to be a public school teacher, was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square, and a calculator.

Attorney General John Ashcroft believes the man is a member of the notorious al-Gebra movement.

He is being charged with carrying weapons of math instruction.

Al-gebra is a very fearsome cult, indeed. They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on a tangent in a search of absolute value. They consist of quite shadowy figures, with names like “x” and “y”, and, although they are frequently referred to as “unknowns”, we know they really belong to a common denominator and are part of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country.

As the great Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, there are 3 sides to every angle, and if God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes.

Therefore, I’m extremely grateful that our government has given us a sine that it is intent on protracting us from these math-dogs who are so willing to disintegrate us with calculus disregard. These statistic bastards love to inflict plane on every sphere of influence. Under the circumferences, it’s time we differentiated their root, made our point, and drew the line. These weapons of math instruction have the potential to decimal everything in their math on a scalene never before seen unless we become exponents of a Higher Power and begin to factor-in random facts of vertex.

As our Great Leader would say, “Read my ellipse”. Here is one principle he is uncertainty of – though they continue to multiply, their days are numbered and the hypotenuse will tighten around their necks.
