Oh! You know how I wrote that post the other day, griping about how no one would fix the gaping hope in our bathroom ceiling because there was no leak. We just got our wish granted the hard way. The guys directly above us were cleaning their shower yesterday, and part of that water found its way through our ceiling. Fortunately, the leak is directly over the toilet, so it’s not nearly as messy as it could have been. Maintenance assures us that they’ll send someone by soon. Now that we’re on the “emergency” list, hopefully that will be within the next few days, rather than the next few months.
Track list for Serenity soundtrack! Beware, spoilers.
Meanwhile, I’m annoyed, because I appear to have left my Sally boots at home, and I was planning to wear the costume again to the screening Wednesday. Guess I’ll wear my other all-purpose, all-fandom boots, worn as Zoe, Vetinari, miscellaneous Jedi, a Mary Sue, etc etc etc. Or maybe my jazz slippers (Aldonza, Andromache) would be more fitting…
It’s sad when a large percentage of my clothing is associated with cosplay. :D
I am so entertained. In immitation of the popular Summer of Spike community, a bunch of fen have gathered together to form Fall for Spike, with one major difference: no Spuffy allowed. And not because it’s one of most common ships, and they want to give other pairings the spotlight. It’s because of the alley scene in Dead Things. “Because all of Spike’s other relationships are so healthy, ” Barb notes.
I love it, it’s wank waiting to happen. Hmm, “wankbait” is a good word.
I leave you with a giant pink Italian mountain-bunny from the year 2025.
*laughs* The clip answering the question “who’s at the door?” in the season finale of Veronica Mars has been leaked. (If the video doesn’t work, try it with VLC) Now the question remains: Are they kidding?
First off, from the promo, unless the scene with Logan was a flashback (which it can’t be, because it was day), it’s pretty much impossible for Logan to be the one at the door. So we ask ourselves: Would Rob Thomas–the man who scripted two alternate endings for the season in the event the fandom figured out the identity of the killer–let the answer to the biggest VM question on the net get leaked?
The answer: heck yes, just not the correct one!
I heard somewhere that Joss Whedon, in an attempt to throw a wrench in the spoiler factory, filmed two alternate endings for the last scene in Buffy season 6: one in which Spike got his soul, and the other in which he gets his chip removed. That way, no one involved with the show could say for sure which scene would be used. I’m not sure if this story is actually true, but I definitely wouldn’t put it past Joss to try it with such a major reveal.
Therefore, I stand by my guns. I don’t like it, but I’m convinced that Duncan is behind the door, despite the 307-ers protests. Of course, if the 307 theory is true, I will be utterly overjoyed at the sheer geekiness of the writers, and won’t mind at all that I was completely and utterly wrong. Viva los fan speculation!
(Hey, wouldn’t now be a good time to preorder the VM DVDs on Amazon? Out October 11th!)
Has everyone seen Jon Stewart’s “Pre-Recorded” Emmy Speech? Hilarious.
Also, these pictures of the Lost cast celebrating are ADORABLE. Daniel Dae Kim is too cute for words!
And unrelated, but Bill Mudron posted more Firefly fanart. :D
This link may be of interest to Rent fans. :D Yes, the post is friends-locked, but just join the comm temporarily and you’re golden. Let this hold you off until the CD comes out on the 27th, when you will all buy the soundtrack from a legitimate source and respect your creators, yes?
I’ve only listened to a few tracks so far, and while I’m irked at the cutting of lines and the general mishmash, I refuse to pass judgement until I see how it’s integrated with the visuals and context and such.
(I love Rosario Dawson as Mimi so far! And I can’t wait to hear Mahandra Tracie Thoms as Joanne…)
YESSSS!!! The Corpse Bride screening is at 7, but the movie is just over an hour, so I’ll still be able to make the season premiere of Lost at 9! Oh, life is so good right now.
Arr! How could I have forgotten Talk Like a Pirate Day!
Aww, one of my advisee kidlets got a role in “Cabaret”! She’s one of the Kit Kat girls! And I got tickets to a pre-screening of Corpse Bride on Wednesday! And Anansi Boys comes out tomorrow! Life is great.
My replacement scan/copy/printer just arrived from Epson, and it’s so preeeeeety! *pets it*
