Forget to remember
The fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason, and plot
I see few reasons
Why gunpowder, treasons
Should ever be forgot,
But one of them is upcoming midterms.
Reefer Madness — The Movie Musical (starring Alan Cumming and Veronica Mars Kristen Bell) and Greg Edmonson’s long-awaited Firefly soundtrack are out today! If you haven’t seen Reefer Madness, do so now! It’s one of my favourite musicals, even eclipsing Bat Boy in my heart. And if you haven’t seen Firefly yet, I wash my hands of you. You are no longer my brother.
Texans: Tomorrow is Election Day. Vote “No” on Proposition #2.
How come no one told me Kristin Chenoweth is on The West Wing? I watched last night’s debate episode, and I was delighted to see her name in the credits. I only finished the fourth season a few days ago, and I knew that the series now is very different from where it was then, but I didn’t expect half the cast to be replaced. Feh.
So, thoughts! I do wish our presidential candidates would follow Vinick’s lead and actually debate, but I actually preferred the ’04 reality. Where was the mind-bending stupidity in the Vinick/Santos debate? (Vinick/Santos? NoTP!) Where were the “You forgot Poland!”s and the “Want some wood?”s or the mysterious suit bulges? Were were the “black or white issues”, the “hard work”, or the fabled “rumors on the internets”? I miss Candidate!Bush. He’s a lot more fun than President Bush.
Anyway, I still haven’t decided if I’m going to watch beyond the fourth season. I guess I’ll rent the fifth season when it comes out on DVD and see if I can stomach the mangling of Sorkin’s characters and storylines, which Ko assures me is dire.
How is it that I never knew about the LJ Portal? Man, that’s handy!
Slate: Right to Wife — Why does Judge Alito treat women like girls?
Scary as heck, and definitely worth reading. Ganked from Peg.
Beware: Sony unleashes new, draconian DRM measures with teeth. Link passed on from Peg Kerr.
Yay, blogger is publishing again! It was having issues yesterday.
Hmph. It looks like James is no longer up for Harry Dresden. Disappointing, as he was the author Jim Butcher’s pick for the role, and he did an excellent job with the audio books. Ah well, I guess it was inevitable, given his preference to not stray long from L.A.
Another entry for my ever-growing list of things that are brilliant, it’s Yoda busting a move! Still, it can’t compare with the “Breakdancing Ben Franklin” past DMDers put together. I’ll have to ask Amy if it’s available online anywhere…
