Things that are not cool: On the day your early class is cancelled, so that you don’t have class until noon, someone calls your cell phone with a wrong number at 6AM.
I can’t believe I’m turning 21 this Wednesday. That just isn’t right.
(Though I will use this opportunity to pimp my Amazon wishlist. Just because I’m turning 21 doesn’t mean I have to ignore my inner 6-year-old.)
And after 7 1/2 hours of work today, the torturous filming sessions are at an end! Though I did get a chance to catch up on my outside reading. Over this weekend, I finished (finally) The Big Over Easy (by Jasper Fforde) and Summer Knight (the fourth book in The Dresden Files), and I made a sizeable dent in Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys and Son of a Witch, the sequel to Wicked.
And now, I get to spend my Thanksgiving break reading about the drug war. Feh upon my Poli Sci class.
Yay, only one day of shooting left for my “Cinema Production” class! Today’s shoot lasted from 2 to just past midnight. Now I’m off, so I can be awake for the 9AM call. Bleh.
The Soup slashes Harry/Ron! Ganked from Indy. HILARIOUS.
And in other news, we pretty much have confirmation of R.A.B.’s identity, thanks to multilingual editions of HBP.
From last night’s post-GOF discussion, re: Harry and Neville:
A girl: What if in the end, Neville has to kill Harry, the final horcrux?
Me: That would make Neville’s “I killed Harry Potter!” foreshadowing!
Just watched Thursday’s Smallville. The writers seriously need to lay off the whole “staking” thing. I expected the episode to end with a newly-strengthened Drusilla carrying Fine’s body out of the fortress.
Edit: Or for Brooke Nevin to grab an enormous hammer and crush him bones to powder. More consistent with the circumstances of his “death” and all that. *grins*
What the… Madagascar, Robots, and Chicken Little make the longlist for “Best Animated Film” and The Incredibles didn’t? What kind of crack is the Academy on? They’ve obviously been visiting Robert Pattinson’s Seedy Opium Den.
… except how The Incredibles came out last year, and it did win “Best Animated Film”, and I’m a total spaz. I was just thinking in terms of “Pixar puts out one film a year, and Cars hasn’t been released yet, so this year’s film must have been The Incredibles.” Please ignore me.
Glad to see Wallace and Grommit, Corpse Bride, and Howl’s Moving Castle getting nods!
How could my own roommate be ignorant of the brilliance of Makani? Funniest HP fanartist EVER. Check out her Death Eater hood series: 1, 2, 3. Then spend the next hour looking at all the rest of her stuff and choking on your own saliva!
Just got back from Goblet of Fire. OMG BEST HP MOVIE EVER! Part of my enjoyment may have derived from my low expectations, but still. BRILLIANT. The pacing was breakneck and the transitions were choppy, but it was uproariously funny, and althought I knew there was a great deal being left out, it didn’t feel like we were missing much. I just hope they don’t wreck the Percy storyline in the fifth movie.
I loved:
I disliked:
Three cheers for Mike Newell and his cast of violent, dirty, corrupt anarchists!
