Catching up:

The Inside is (basically) cancelled. Good gravy, is Fox ever going to give Tim Minear a break? (Edit: PLEASE say that the “Adam Baldwin undercover in drag” episode Tim spoke of in passing is among those that indeed will be made)

To cheer me up, an all-a capella rendition of “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. It reminds me of DaVinci’s Notebook’s remix of the Dreidel Song, only on ten times the hallucinogen.

For those that want HDTV caps of the King Kong trailer that will fill up your screen twice over, go here.

In the wake of Sandra Day O’Connor’s retirement, NOW Marches in Support of Abortion Rights — You go, girls! You certainly didn’t waste any time.

Despite doubts as to its authenticity, this video of extreme basketball shots is pretty awesome.

I heard back from my second of four peer advisees, and he’s pretty nifty, as well! Yay, I have fun people! And come September, THEY WILL ALL BE MOLDED LIKE PUTTY INTO FIREFLY FANS. *cackles*

Other than the whole Sandra Day O’Connor thing (which, admittedly is a pretty big “other than”), today was a good day. Daddy’s birthday, as well as the kickoffs of lj-communities “Summer of Serenity” and the second-annual “Summer of Spike”. Not to mention Canada Day!

Tomorrow, my parents and I are headed off to East Texas to spend the weekend at my mom’s friend’s house. T’will be keen! Lots of photographic opportunities and suchlike!

Meanwhile, just got back from Dad’s birthday dinner and a showing of “March of the Penguins“, which was utterly fascinating and so cute I could die. *squeals over the ikkle penguin babies*

Sandra Day O’Connor retired. Couldn’t she have waited until Bush was out of office? She’s a moderate conservative!

So how much longer are we going to have the right to choose? Are we supposed to entrust our reproductive freedom to a man who appointed Bolton to the U.N.? By what majority of Senators would be necessary to oppose the appointment? Urgh, I thought it was just Rehnquist that would be replaced over Bush’s term, and he’s conservative already.

What made those gmail ads suddenly decide I’m a Bush supporter? And I used to get so many lovely left-wing links, too…

*squeaks* I found out the names of my four peer advisees yesterday (did I mention I was going to be a peer advisor? Because I am.), and I sent off my first email last night. I’ve been waiting all day with bated breath to hear back from them, in the hopes that they wouldn’t think I was a total dork. But I just got my first email back from one of my advisees, and she’s COOL. She’s an Anglophile that loves musical theatre and Tim Burton movies, and she wants to be a Disney Imagineer. I don’t know why I worried. I haven’t met a DMDer yet who wasn’t awesome. Okay, boys. Your turn!
