The Cult of Lincoln

Serenity. Even after the third time, it doesn't get any easier. *heavy sigh* This movie is phenomenal.

I went with a bunch of Browncoats that had gathered for Phauxcon. There wasn't anyone there I knew really well; most of them I had encountered tangentially on LJ. They proved to be a tremendously fun group of people, and I look forward to getting to know them better. And who did I run into at the theatre, but Aaron! He had read in my blog that I was attending this screening, and so he chose to attend the same time. He even brought his two roommates, both fans.

As one would expect, the most major change from the pre-screenings was the music. The tone of the "introduction to the crew" scene changed completely! Has anyone timed that phenomenal one-shot at the beginning of that scene? It's awe inspiring. I wonder how many takes that took.

Most of the other changes were fairly small. They changed the spelling of Book's name, for one. The other change, while tiny, is terribly significant to me and spoilery as all hell, so if you want my take on it, catch me on IM. I've sat on this stuff for four months; I can wait a few more weeks until it's opened in other countries, and the Browncoats there get a chance to see it. Cult of Lincoln will remain spoiler-free!

Edit: Oh, and I was the only one in costume. We had a "Joss Whedon is my master now" shirt, but other than that? Nada. Not even a Jayne hat. It was pathetic. Of course, being the only one dressed up, I got quite a lot of compliments. It made up for the comments I got while grocery shopping in costume before the movie, wherein a half-dozen people asked if I knew about the smudge of charcoal on my cheek.
