What's going on, daddy?

Well, son, you remember at the end of Star Wars: Episode II, when the wise and peaceful Jedi masters are sad because they realize the Republic has elected a Council that will support the Evil Emperor, who will create a massive army to fight a battle that will eventually destroy the Republic? That's pretty much what just happened last night in the 2002 Elections.
