I quite approve, and I am quite amused that I&#8217;ve only seen one of the 5 films nominated for Best Picture, and none of those nominated for &#8220;Best Director&#8221;. I&#8217;m absolutely delighted (and not at all surprised) that &#8220;Ryan&#8221; was nominated for &#8220;Best Animated Short.&#8221; I saw it at Siggraph, and it&#8217;s amazing.<\/p>\n<p>Tangentially related, here&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/browncoats.serenitymovie.com\/serenity\/index.html?fuseaction=tools.invlink&amp;u=priscellie&amp;linkID=37\">nifty article<\/a> from the March 2005 &#8220;Total Film&#8221; (not a clue why a March issue would be out now, but who am I to question?) on the fabulousness of <i>Serenity<\/i> and the lameness of recent Sci-Fi.<\/p>\n<p>Also, wasn&#8217;t <a href=\"http:\/\/comingsoon.net\/news\/topnews.php?id=8090\">Bootstrap Bill<\/a> supposed to be Orli&#8217;s spitting image? (Though the fact we have a Bootstrap Bill &#8212; unless we&#8217;re talking flashbacks &#8212; proves I was SO RIGHT and that BOOTSTRAP BILL LIVES!  Because dude, he was left for dead <i>after<\/i> the curse was enacted.  He couldn&#8217;t die!) Okay, I&#8217;m done.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oscar Nominations!
